You've lost me Noddy - are you saying that RL hasn't had success because he hasn't won a GF, and that he therefore couldn't have had a stellar side because there was always 1 team on the big day that was better? Is that the circular logic that says that if he'd had a talented list he would have won a premiership, so therefore he can't have had a talented list because he hasn't won a premiership?
Is there not room for two stellar sides in any given season? Or put another way, in my opinion, only that Hawthorn side at that time, with its lineup as it was, could have beaten us that year.
Out of interest though, Noddy, if our GF team wasn't stellar, and therefore only - what - solid, mediocre? then how much more or less mediocre would you say our current list is? Surely you'd agree that whatever grade you give our GF team, our current best 22 is nowhere near that level?
