5 goals. 20 touches. I didn't watch the game but that's what he needs to do. Personally I'd like to see him play and the coaching staff show a bit of faith in him but he seems to be the first dropped.

I think they just need to throw medicine balls at Tabs to make him grab the ball better. after you catch the medicine ball fifty times ,the footy seems easy.

I don't think he's that bad a mark. I just feel dropping him sets his progress back further. He shows signs and I think we've put more games into players that show less.

Taberner has shown glimpses of what he could be. A 2m player who runs all day, grabs plenty of marks, plenty of possessions at will, while icing that with a few goals would be a great addition to most forward lines. He's shown he can do it, just nowhere near enough. We all should hope this is the year he matures into doing that regularly.

Tabs played 17 games last year (15 in a row) and 15 the year before, he's had plenty of chances. He needs to be kicking bags in the WAFL repeatedly to get the call up again and then do that at AFL level. His output so far hasn't been good enough and a lack of options in his position isn't going to keep him in the side forever.

Would not have been fun playing forward line last year. Supply was limited and when it was there it was rubbish. He's actually better playing a chf role leading up to the wings with his great run and being close to home.i can see him working well with McCarthy starting inside 50.

Last year I argued that Taberner needed to be given an extended run to see if he could settle at AFL level. I think the club gave him the opportunity and he wasn't able to impact. He may still develop into a serviceable player, remembering he came off the rookie list, but needs to do this with repeated stand out games at WAFL level.
I think he needs to get more aggressive and physical, at his size will need to have the ability to offer some support in the ruck to play many AFL games.
