Luke Strnadica on the Rookie list looks a likely type as well, so I think for the first time in a long time we don't look too bad in the ruck department. I'm seriously hoping Apeness can show something....anything... this year as his efforts except for one finals game at AFL and WAFL level have been seriously underwhelming.
Yes he's had injury concerns, but one or two possessions in a dominant winning side is worrying.

IMHO that makes 3 dedicated rucks bpurple, Sandi, Darcy and Griff, one is injured (Sandi) one is 18 and would struggle to play a full game as a ruckman (Darcy) and the final one hasn't been the same since he did his knee several seasons ago (Griff). Apeness has failed to fire at any level and is injury prone and Srnd (no vowels) is a tall forward.

I am very afraid right now.

In all honesty, seeing what the Dogs did with a makeshift ruckman in Jordan Roughhead and a young bloke they paid $1M a season in Boyd, losing Clarke is the least of our worries. Sandi is good to go, and you can't play Griff while Sandi is up and about. Apeness will give Sandi a chopout when needed. I'd be more concerned if we lost McCarthy or Walters or anyone in our forward line.

I've only watched Darcy at training once, but it seemed clear that he is a footballer we are trying to make athletic, rather than an athlete we are trying to make a footballer (Hendricks)

Having a dominant ruckman is nice, but not necessary. We've had one for years and still got trousered regularly, or butchered the clearances. Hawks haven't got a standout ruck, hasn't held them back.

Just have a tall who can make a good contest, the important stuff is done by the mids in the square.
