Is there a centralised list of our injuries anywhere? I can't find one on the official site. From memory it looks like this:
Crozier: Groin
Sandi: Calf
Pearce: Broken leg (again)
Bennell: Calf (again)
Clarke: Knee (still)
Griff: Groin?

I was you beauting R Lyon's You Beaut.

Noddy, my point is: If the are playing harder than ever, maybe they need more recovery time, and less training time. If they are doing the workout during the game, maybe goalkicking and footpassing skills could be worked on during the week rather than marathon training at 100% effort.

Sigh, We are a WA based team with more Groins than Cottesloe and more calves than Harvey. Look out if we try and add Armadale to our list....

I wouldn't worry about Armadale. Most of our crack went to the Gold Coast

Deledio out of first preseason game with a recurrence of a calf injury. I put the blame solely and squarely on the GWS conditioning staff.

Sounds like Olympic Park isn't good enough.

Sounds like injuries happen regardless of team, ground, medical staff or Australian state.

So you're backing away from you claim that Fremantle Oval is at fault.

Of course injuries happen everywhere, under different circumstances. What people are discussing here are patterns over extended periods and what to do about stopping it.

Harley Bennell (left calf, indefinite): The injury-plagued midfielder has been building his running workload over the past month since seeking specialist treatment for his calf woes in Germany. After missing all of last season due to ongoing issues with his right calf, Bennell's return date remains a wait-and-see proposition.

Still a goer for round 1 and 200 games for the club? Not so sure.

CA, Bennell will not only play Rd1, but he'll string 18+ games this season. Just call it intuition.

One of the criticisms levelled at Harvey was that he rushed players back, which led to players re-injuring themselves. Under Lyon you couldn’t say we rush players back, but the recurrent injuries persist. Last year we demonstrably had a bad year with injuries relative to the rest of the competition, but I don’t know whether that was an anomaly or a pattern.

We know Bennell was a bit bung when he arrived. Sandi is a middle-aged ruckman. It stands to reason that players who break they’re legs once are more likely than average to break that part again. It’s possible that no matter how good the staff and facilities that these sorts of injuries would occur.

But if having moved into a new facility we have the same run of injuries this year there would be a few fitness / medical staff feeling a bit nervous.
