I had a good conversation over the weekend about the camp down in the Stirling Ranges.
On a 3,2,1 basis there was two stand outs.
I was happy to hear G Logue was the 3 vote recipient in the eyes of a good mate of mine who was present for the whole trip.
He says Griff was so impressive that even the second year players were looking up to him.
Future Captain material for sure and in all years of these SAS style camps, he cant recall a better performance.
2 Votes - S Collins - very impressed with Sams smartness, commitment and ability to lead.
Sam was also a standout and set the bar high for all participants to rival for the 3 votes.
A long was back in third spot was D Tucker but he tried hard as you would expect with AFL games under his belt.
There was two groups and the first group containing Griff left the others in their wake.
The disappointment to hear was the attitude of a second year player who has a good calf.
As far as the remainder goes - he can see why two new players in particular slipped into the Rookie Draft.
Common sense, intellect and motivation when the going got tough was sadly lacking.
Lets hope they can play footy!
