I've never had an issue with Rosich. Rosich's job is to think of the FFC as a business, and to get the best business outcome for the club. In many ways, Rosich has been very effective at his job.
It's the President / Chairman's job to have the strategic vision for a club. He or she should understand that footy isn't actually a business, the FFC isn't a corporation, and that fans aren't just customers; that the business side is merely a means to an end. He / she is the one that should be reigning in the CEO when the pursuit of business ends encroaches on what makes a great footy club.
Harris never understood that distinction. But I'm not even sure that was his failure. We somehow ended up with a President who didn't love AFL footy, didn't love the Dockers and didn't love Fremantle as a place. He was a terrible choice to be President.
Alcock seems to love footy and love the Dockers. I don't know how he feels about Fremantle, but on paper he shapes to be a better President. Step one in the Fremantle Dockers reclamation project is to make nice with the Freo Council, and make sure that the connection between the club and the community it purports to represent remains intact.
