Davo, I'll raise you Bennell's calf for Barlow's broken leg and busted shoulder. And I'll throw in he's a No. 2 pick to Barlow's rookie listing. I know who's LTAO.

I'll raise a glass if he actually plays in Round 1.

Hadn't noticed Barlow's broken leg hampering him since his recovery. And if you're using that sort of analogy then we can just about write Fyfe off.

Yeah, Freo have a great history of managing injury prone players.

Gumby, Hipless, Mora, Johnson, SCOS. Griffin, Clarke...

Besides last year and 2011,our games lost to injury are not excessive when compared to the rest of the AFL , But Bennell was a huge risk i must admit and so far not paying off

What's he a huge risk to?

I'd say Fyfe is a bigger risk because the team got so used to his dominance.

Fyfe isn't part of the chorus line. He's a head-liner. He doesn't have a history of breaking down either. Their management strategy with him was to pull the pin early, and settle into merch mode for 2016.

I'm talking about risk. Anyone can breakdown, risk = what is the likely consequences of them breaking down. Should Bennell not get back on the park, heaven forbid, it'd be heartbreaking sure, but from a team perspective it's not going to change much. When Fyfe went down it had major flow on effects for team play.

([rhetoricalliac font] oh and are you sure Fyfe doesn't have a history of injury? [rhetoricalliac font/])

I seemed to remember AA Luke had a history of calf issues not to mentioned that we he came to us from Hawthorn, he had OP and that took a while to address. He's gone and played over 200+ games for us. Bennell wil play all of that and then some. But the media will say he's career is over. I hear that Nic Nat wil play again in the latter part of 2017. I'd say his career is over, because once you've done an ACL you'll never be the same.

The "media" take great pleasure in predicting a falling sky and the end of the world for Freo every year. The time to worry is when they stop talking that crap.

I guess with the new improved knee, NicNat will come back faster and jump higher than before. according to local reports.
