Does this mean he's a fantastic athlete, or just that the Hawks fitness staff are better than ours.

A few years ago Broughton went to the Suns and won all thier pre-season enduarance trials, at the time I thought it more a reflection of how good our fitness guys were compared to those at the Suns.

Seems the shoe may be on the other foot right now and we seem to be lacking fitness levels required to compete.

Hopefully they do something about that over the next 4 months.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's the first time Fyfe's done a 3 km time trial since he was drafted. I'm pretty sure even in his Brownlow year, he had an interrupted pre-season. As for Brad Hill, he was an elite runner when the Hawks recruited him. They turned him into a footballer. Where as Tendai, who was our elite runner, Freo couldn't turned him into a footballer. I'm not to sure if Roly can turned athletes into footballers.

The 1st three across the line last year (Mzungu, de Boer, Barlow) are no longer with us. So it's hard to know whether Brad would have won with them in the field too.

All we know is that he is faster than the rest of them.

Jezza, I'm pretty sure B Hill is a footballer who can run, not an elite runner turned into a footballer. Grab Usain Bolt and put him in footy boots, and I bet he will struggle to get a kick.
