so as far as I can tell from Cal's phantom draft order, Gold Coast are going to use a pick on their own acadamy player? seems stupid to me.

1. Essendon - McLuggage
2. GWS - McGrath
3. Brisbane - Ainsworth
4. Gold Cost - Brodie
5. Carlton - Setterfield - Matched by GWS
6. Carlton - SPS
7. Gold coast - Bowes (why would they do this?)
8. Fremantle - Taranto (good get but wouldn't GC pick him at 7?)
9. Gold Coast - Perryman - Matched by GWS
10. Gold coast - Scrimshaw
11. Sydney - Sympkin
12. Gold Coast - Logue

That's how he ranks them based on form this season opposed to where he thinks they'll be picked in the draft. He does mention the academy bids coming closer to pick 10 which is far later than most are predicting. They will almost certainly be before GC/GWS early picks if only to force their hand in picking up their players rather than getting a late bargain.

It also seems relevant to mention Powell-Pepper ranked at 23, about where our second pick would have been.

There is no way known that the AFL will take draft picks off GWS. Ab-so-lutely no chance. However we'll probably lose our number 7 pick over Kebabpantsgate.

Also after seeing that Powell-Pepper-Puff-Piece in the Worst about how much he loves the Weagles and East Perth I really hope we don't get him. I know things like that shouldn't be more important than talent, but seriously, turn it up.
