I'm not sure of the name of the new league, so apologies if my subject heading is out of whack!
Yet again we see that the A in AFL is purely a marketing exercise by the old VFL. The highly rated Freo women's team will have to win their first GF in Melbourne as this seems to be the only option being allowed by the AFL. The GF will be played at the G regardless of who is playing. Why? They can't use existing ground contracts, tradition or stadium capacity as an excuse. They have an opportunity to establish a truly national comp and they show their spots before it has even started. So disappointing!
