The AFL has the classic approach of working out who is a "good bloke" and deciding if "he deserves his punishment" then working backward and twisting the evidence to get the result they want.
Instead of actually assessing the evidence impartially and determining the result from there, regardless of who the subject is.
We've seen it across every part of the AFL, take Chris Judd's reports for example. He elbows Pav in the face, the AFL twists and turns to get the outcome they want. When Judd tried to twist that Kangaroo players arm (can't remember who it was) the AFL was awake to Judd's shenanigans and he copped the result.
Same with Hird when the scandal first broke.
Jobe still has some semblance of the "good bloke AFL shield" in play, even those who will use this act to reinforce it and blame some faceless men at Essendon for the result.
