If this bloke doesn't have Freo written all over him then I don't know who does. He's battled his way against the odds to join all the white upper class private school boys at the top of the draft pool and deserves to join the plethora of indigenous talent that have graced the purple jumper.

Given 9 other clubs started training today , I wonder actually how many players will turn up today for Freo given that Peel only finished 6 weeks ago.
1st to 4 year players are supposed to start today and the only player who did not play for Peel was Weller ?
So him and Mc carthy will be the only ones on track I think?

Add Brad Hill to those on the track, he stated he would be training with whoever started on day one to get to know all of the playing group and be as well prepared as possible for round one.

Gold Coast will pick Jack Bowes. Think back national Draft 2009, the Demons received a priority pick from memory, so with picks 1& 2, they got Scully (now GWS) and Trengove ( haven't played for 2 years in demons colours), Dustin Martin was pick 3 and then our boy Mora at Pick 4. In reality he was pick 3. So fast forward 7 years, we have passed on the dreaded pick 3 for pick 7. Lets face it, I don't want another kid busted up with multiple knees, when we all knew he was destined to be a star. On the other hand we had Pick 7 in 2007, ended up with Palmer and could have got Cyril Rioli. I reckon we'll win the lottery with pick 7 this year because surely after an awesome trade period, all the stars are lining up. So I'm calling it, Pick 7 and the winner is between SPS ( Midfield/half-forward, Ht 181cm, Wt 76kg, DOB 19/2/98

I lived in Halls Creek for 7 months and went to watch halls creek play against warmun and the Ord river magpies. Often the local kids would congregate in a big mob and walk around town with a couple of footies not just playing kick to kick but having a mini game! It was entertaining to say the least them running around with magical skills barefoot yelling and having fun. The place is an absolute breeding ground for natural talent.

Natural talent is a thing of beauty which should always be tempered by commitment and determination. Freo seem to have had all three in spades over the years but seemingly rarely in one package. Hope this kid, if available and selected is able to demonstrate all of these qualities together.This is what Freo Fans should hope see.

From that article sounds like his dream is to play footy in Victoria may carry a risk to us, that he may want to be traded to pursue that dream at some point.
Many many factors determine how trade picks turn out in the future not just their talent or what pick was used.
