Aside from the whole baseball thing, the thing that I'm impressed with is the idea of a plan, hatched when Theo Epstein came to the Cubs in 2010, the moves the Cubs made to trade players in and out, draft well and finally execute. Yes, I know all teams do it or attempt to do it, but the Cubs did it this year. At Freo, we've been sort of promised a re-tool or re-build, and hopefully, eventual success. I hope we have the personnel and plan in place for ultimate success. Think about it: Theodore Roosevelt was the President of the US when the Cubs last won the World Series in 1908. In all honesty, if my health is good and my faculties are OK, I probably have another 30 years of giving a carp about Freo winning a premiership. I hope to see this in my lifetime.
