Help for the new coaches is a good thing, this guy is an Aussie not a Canadian so it's not like he is going to start asking where the helmets, pads and skates are so the guys can take the field. AFL is by and large an instinctive and somewhat reactive game in that, you can have a perfect strategy worked out on how to attack and defend but it means jack if the other team don't cooperate and do exactly as you would like.
The coaches can prepare players, work on their skills and fitness and advise them on what to do in given situations. That is all very nice, but the minute someone like a Dangerfield starts to tear holes in your awesome strategy, it's up to the players on the field to react and adapt. The Egirls are a classic in that once their spiderman web fails they become an absolute rabble, and it's not a slow break down it's an immediate collapse. If you don't have players who can think for themselves, all the coaches in the world standing on the sidelines are not going to help you.
