Bias comes in many forms, refusal to play a grand final in any place other than Victoria, despite stadiums that hold 60 000 plus spectators existing in other states and despite the fact that TV generates the bulk of the money the AFL collects on GF day not gate takings.
The pathetic way the AFL divides funds and props up suburban clubs in Melbourne who could not stand alone without their help.
The make up of the AFL board of commissioners.
It will not be a proper national competition until the AFL start to think that way. I just get the feeling that teams West of the Victorian border are held in and treated with contempt.

I got to the the 3rd paragraph and then thought, what Shane said.

I'm not sure about Victorian bias, but the Bulldogs won the free kick count in all 4 of their finals, only one of which was against another Vic team (Hawthorn).

EF WB 17 - WCE 13 (interesting as the Slime never lose the free kick count especially at Subiaco)

It's more about the number of free kicks and what they are awarded for in the early quarters, verses the later quarter kicks which I perceive as the softer (lets balance the ledger) type frees'.

Either way, it's always going to be 30% harder from WA to dance the big one.
