To quote Homer J Simpon ... Trade period is done and done

So to the draft

1 - Ess
2 - GWS
3 - Bris
4 - GC
5 - Carlton
6 - GC
7 - us
8 - GC

GC also have pick 10

Bit glass half empty of me but ... If I was a betting man SPS goes to GC. They have academy player Bowes rated as Top 5 or 10 pick. So their strategy would (of course) be wait until he is bid for and then use the points to get him --- with the reduction of course.

I reckon SPS goes to them at what will be the original pick 6 which will feel a lot like when McCarthy got snaffled from under our noses by GWS.

Carlton may also want his class to match Cripps grunt.

Anyway hope he slides to us.

I'm sure Perevski-Seton will be a good player but whether he is or not, or comes to Freo or not, he isn't Freo's Messiah (or a very naughty boy).

Freo will get a good player with Pick 7 regardless of who it is.

391 agree with you that SPS will be taken by the Suns. With any luck a condition of our last trade with them was "we will give you our 2nd round pick next year if you promise to keep your hands off SPS this year"

True.

Romantic in me likes the idea of local WA kid being drafted and being part of Freo setting new record for most Aboriginal players fielded in a single team at AFL/VFL level.

Maybe I think differently about this than most but I think we might have paid overs for McCarthy .... The rest I am relatively happy with except for the late trade of next years second rounder .... I hope they plan to pick up someone like Shai Bolton or Logue if they are around .... I seriously doubt Logue will be there past pick 20.

At first I thought the cam mac deal was a good deal then I watched the last few days as GWS let about 5 or 6 highly drafted kids go for picks in the 50's to 70's

Carlton, St Kilda, Essendon and Nth amongst others all picked up bargains in my opinion based on the age and original draft status of the player ... and some of those kids were from WA (ahern, picket, even palmer for last round draft pick)

not sure what Bondy and co were doing but I reckon we could have taken a punt on some of those kids ... especially the WA ones. obviously this assumes that they wanted to come to Freo also.

If SPS goes to the suns he'll be coming home in 2 years a bit bigger for a second round draft pick.

Everyone here is also assuming Freo will draft Petrevski-Seton if he is available.

I suppose there's nothing wrong with wanting to win a specific Chocolate Wheel prize when you have a ticket - just don't be too disappointed if you win something else.

Too true Davo, their are a stack of good mids in the draft I reckon we might go for a Mundy type rather than a smaller player. Mundy and who knows if Barlow will be gone soon so I reckon they will take someone of that stature.

There's little chance SPS would be worth just a second round pick in 2 years time and I have no doubt we'd end up paying a future first rounder as well.
Nathan: When did you get balls?
Simon: I've always had balls you've just never seen them.
Nathan: That's the gayest thing I've ever heard.

I would like someone like Jack Scrimshaw as a classy general type of player that is a bit skinny but will have good scope for improvement. Obviously SPS, Jarrod Berry and Tim Taranto might be around the mark.

Interestingly Brad Lloyd and Co. where having a really good look at Darcy Cameron the other day so they might favour taking him with a late pick rather than Tim English with an early pick.. Just speculating

For players I see maybe around around pick 35-40 odd
Luke Strnadica, Zac Fisher could be around the mark
I would say Griffin Logue and Shai Bolton would be gone by then

Jack Bowes definitely gets bid at pick 3 because he is a Queenslander and Brisbane will have to have a crack at him but Gold Coast will match it

SPS reminds me looks wise of dale Kickett , Oh BTW like like your call on Darcy cameron Detox , A wiser decision in my view than English at 7 , Would be Darcy with a later pick

I would rather he plays like Dale. No player gave more for his team than that fella.

You guys who are really tracking these kids are doing a great job. We slack pricks who just wait and see what happens salute you!

How about package it all up by listing who you think are our top seven draft targets in order? We know we'll get one of them, and it will be intriguing see how high up our "top 7" we get .
