His manager has indicated that a trade is "unlikely". Does that mean he goes into the draft and we get nothing or he stays?

If Fremantle offer him a contract he can agree to it and stay; or he can not agree to it and go in the draft or retire.

If Fremantle don't offer him a contract then he gets delisted and he can go in the draft or retire.

3 delisted player free agency periods coming up according to AFL site. Tuesday, November 1st to Tuesday November 8th, Thursday November 10th to Friday, November 18th & Saturday, November 26th to Sunday, November 27th. From my understanding reading the AFL site, if we delist Barlow or Silvagni prior to these periods they can be picked up then.

Just heard on the radio that Barlow and SCOS will not be offered a new contract...sad, sad day for the club if that is the case..:(

Question - if Barlow has been told that he will only be getting a one year contract, and that he will not be getting a game if everyone is fit and healthy, is the club doing him a favour in delisting him so that he can find a new home via the PSD and potentially get more game time, since there weren't any suitors during the trade period?

So Silvagni is clearly too old, but the spack is older, and isn't?

Lyon really is a perverse bastard. A more than reasonable prerequisite for a backman is that he can handball and kick to a decent level. Being able to mark is handy. Spack fails on every count.

If they realy are moving to youth next season, Dawson is the worst example of list filler. Silvagni is a far better depth option.

Its just sad. I know SCOS is old, but I'd play him before Collins. And I wouldn't be making the assumption that Johnno is fit for the whole season. But obviously I'm too sentimental to be involved in footy list management.

With A Pearce, Hamling and Collins on the list, I don't think we have a need for both Dawson and SCOS. I'd prefer we keep SCOS, but Dawson has a contract and SCOS doesn't.

If he's deemed surplus to requirements I'd like to see Barlow get offered an assistant coaching position. From watching and listening to his interviews he seems to have an excellent grasp of the game at a strategic level, communicates well and has a good rapport with the playing group.
