I think its been pointed out before that we've picked up from the 2011 draft picks 32 (Hamling), 33 (Hill) and 34 (Kersten)

To go with Sheridan, Crozier, Neale, Spurr and Sutcliffe from the same draft (Spurr was the rookie)

I think 63 is about right for Kersten.

If I'm reading things right, he will end up behind McCarthy, Tabs and Apeness but he provides us with some depth. Hope he likes wearing teal.

Absolutely a bonza trade period. The 2008 draft was a pot of gold for us in our climb to the GF. That took 5 years. As Stickers have pointed out, the 2011 draft boys, are in the Purple next year. From my reckoning, the last rebuild took 5 years, the re-stumping will take less, so big 2017 I would have thought.

Congrats to the Freo trade team. The general consensus is that we have done very well with our trades and still have picks 7 and 40. These picks will further strengthen our list. Hopefully the powers that be are working on the retention of Fyfe beyond 2017.

If Kersten is starting off behind Tabener and Apeness then I agree that he wasn't worth getting Yeti. Surely he's got to be on even footing or better to start with particularly as Tabener is frustratingly inconsistent and Apeness has hardly played a good game at WAFL level let alone AFL.

As it stands Kersten would get picked ahead of both Taberner and Apeness. Pick 63 is a good deal for Kersten and his kicking is elite. For me, the Hamling deal we overpaid.
