Yeah like that crab Collins who couldnt get a game with the Hawks. Same for that loser Menegola the Hawks and Freo delisted what a loser. Like Barlow, Bloody list cloggers.

I actually sat down and watched a Geelong game on the weekend, we certainly messed up with Menegola, I now see why others are angry we let him go.

We already have Apeness & Taberner.

Apeness is now fit and has re-signed so is part of the plan + a useful backup ruckman.

Tabs is an enigma but seems to play better with Pav out, so I'm willing to be patient for one more season.

McCarthy is likely, Lobb possible and Hogan improbable to come over. But get two of the three and we're back in business.

So I can't see why anyone would be discussing rejects from other sides, WA born or not. Mason who?

Admittedly there was not a lot of pressure but Mason Shaw looked bloody good today, as did Marlon Pickett with his run and delivery from half back.
How old is he and has he been on any AFL list before?

The good news is Corps is that Marlon has not been on an AFL list before. He has a colourful past along the lines of Shane Yarran but is only 25 and has been at Sowfs for at least a couple of seasons now. He is the older brother of Tyson Pickett (19 yrs old) who also tore it up in the final for the Bulldogs. Please could Freo get some good WA talent and draft Tyson and Rookie Marlon. Both have good skills and genuine football smarts, it would give us a good defender and a pacy forward.

Tyson tore it up? He'll be lucky to hold his place next week.
Marlion Pickett, yes very good, but the only player I'd be looking at from Sowfs is Tim Kelly, maybe Saunders and Shaw at this stage. Shaw is probably a better footballer than Tabs, and a year or two younger, but probably won't be looked at if Macarthy deal gets done.
Having said that, Ashton Hams was BOG, so that's probably saying something.
Kelly is definitely worth a look.

Agree on all those points bpurple.
There was a good documentary a few years ago on the ABC following the Wooroloo Prison team for the year.
Marlon was the star player.
To say they missed him when he was released is an understatement.
Not sure how he ended up at South Freo after Swans appeared to rate him highly and have the connection with the prison team.
I could see him taking over Johnnos role. They also have a similar kicking style.
He has been playing good footy for a few years now so life must be good for him now - lets get him

Jeez Yoss we must have viewed the game from different parts of the ground, the only reason Shaw and Saunders were effective Saturday was because of guys like Tyson Pickett doing the ground ball work and setting them up. Hams best on ground????!!!??? hmmmm. Shaw is not better than Tabs and Saunders is past it. Tim Kelly will be a very good player, His dad Greg was a great player in the Avon Valley league, not sure but I think he may have had a run with the Demons in the nineties (that's last century).
Went and watched the Freo seconds smash the WCE seconds yesterday, (both teams had 18 AFL listed players in) Peel should go deep into the finals this year. I hope WCE get a stack of injuries next year because if they have to rely on their WAFL "stars" then they will be lucky to win half the games we did this year.

When Paul Hasleby says that Mason Shaw would be on the slack side of the effort bell curve required for an AFL pre-season, you can be pretty well assured that Lyon won't have a bar of him.

Which probably means Bond will recruit him - as Ross clearly doesn't have a say in recruitment - and then he'll never get close to getting a game after that but will remain on the list for 2 years for Dockerlanders to continue to wonder what the hell is going on out there at Cockburn Central West.
