How did he get in the 22 under 22 squad? Not sure I can bring myself to vote.

People need to get off his back he is a promising footballer. Just as Crozier always has been. He plays for Fremantle. This is a fan site.

For heaven's sake.

What Hypen said ...

and ...

... if you're going to sledge a bloke at least spell his name right ...

and ...

... real issue here for FFC is (as a re-building team allegedly) how we only have one bloke good enough to get on that list (with apologies to Alex P who if hadn't broken his leg and played all year probably would have made it

What I like about him is that he's got a Hasleby quality where he thinks about the bloke he'll be giving the ball to next, rather than just handing off the football. He'll wait that extra second, or send his man the wrong way, then he'll get rid of it and it gives the next bloke a few seconds extra. A lot of your modern day high possession getters just like to dump the ball on the first person they see.

Sigh, I'm a fan and not a complicated sort of bloke, but I do just wish when he did give it off it was to the bloke wearing purple and I don't mean Johnny Docker on the wrong side of the boundary line......Yea I know Coaching Coaching Coaching, it'll be sorted in the next pre season.

I rate Sheridan. He's a hard runner, has good endurance and disposes of it reasonably well. Check him out in the last quarter of games - he's one of the very few blokes who actually still covers the ground deep into the game. He's not going to get many Brownlow votes, but good teams need players like him, and over his career shapes to be a better contributor than blokes like Mzungu, de Boer and Suban, who we've tried in similar roles.

Ah Morgan you've just given me a light bulb moment, that explains why Bolt kicks the footy so well.

No seriously, give him the Gatorade bottles then. ( And before the rest of you mob start, Shirely he can't give the Gatorade to the wrong blokes on the field??)

But seriously, I thought he did a good shut down role a couple of weeks ago, I just wished we didn't put him in the back line where he keeps giving me Tourette's and frightening the young kiddies in bay 321

Nobody looks good in the backline at the moment. That tends to happen when you get smashed in the middle and haven't had an effective system to clear the ball from the back 50 that doesn't involve Johnno or Duffield with ball in hand, or Fyfe and Sandi stationed as a bail-out kick.

The limitations of disposal efficiency as a stat have been discussed elsewhere, but he goes at about 78%, which is handy.

The admirable veteran midfield types will make way at the end of the year. Some of our draftees are more natural backmen - Tucker could be an automatic selection in the backline next year, and Balic and Hughes could see some time there. So, expect to see a lot more of Sheridan running through the middle next year . I think he'll be very good for us.

Agreed Morgan that he is not a back man but is doing a job there till we get the right person (in other words Silvagni).
I think high half forward playing through the centre is his best spot, he has a good tank and in the last three games has kicked more goals than Mayne and Ballantyne combined, true story.
It is interesting that those outside the club rate him but we and I include myself in that, see his faults more than anything else. Perhaps we are becoming too focused on our flock of escaped goats and need to cut him some slack. Like Neil it appears he is a good news story that we can point to, recognised as one of the best developing players in the AFL in an otherwise dismal year.

Haven't seen the list, but is Neale not in it? He's younger than Sheridan isn't he?

A few months younger. The criteria is that you're 22 or under for the entire season and his birthday is after the season finishes. Neale has turned 23.

I was at the Kangas v Sydney game and a couple of Kangas fans were asking whether Sheridan was interested in moving back to Vic. Very keen to take him.

Always nice meeting up with a player's folks during a game, but North are always looking to off-load their garbage on somebody. Next thing you know you've got another Sylvia chowing his contract away in the WAFL.
