One thing that I haven't liked about Lyon during his time at the club has been his unwillingness to be over complimentary towards some of our players, If he is about to start giving a little praise to some of them when warranted I think this will be for the better.
I understand that he is trying to prevent people getting ahead of themselves, but I think sometimes it wouldn't hurt.
To his credit he has also not been in the habit of publicly chastising players.
I imagine most of this work is done behind closed doors which is appropriate.
I think that he has to realise that when times are tough like now, if you don't feed the media and fans anything then they will create it themselves.
I watched Nathan Buckley a couple of times during the season when Collingwood were in trouble, and I reckon he managed to avert some of that pressure through his open and honest feedback, about what they were doing and how it was effecting himself the club and the players.
