I know umpiring is a tough game but why does Freo always cop all the really bad decisions and clear bias?

The umpiring today was the most one-sided & biassed I've seen in 15 yrs and thr goal review today has got to take the cake. The ball cannons into the base of the post then crosses line in behind space. Goal ump calls goal but asks for review which "confirms goal".

WTF ????

I have lost the passion to have this conversation this year as we have been that diabolical that the umpiring is of no consequence.
I will say one thing though, in rd1 a goal was sent to review with the umpire stating he thought it was a goal, only to over ruled on less convincing footage than the one today. I thought it was a point today.

Good point Hypen, Walters does have an issue when he turns and drives. I think mostly to extricate himself from traffic not to draw the free kick, but umpires seem to have decided he always ducks. In the first few minutes today he got taken high in a typical Shuey shrug and umpire called straight away ducked his head, most players would be payed this.

3rd quarter- Subi end of ground. Dockers (can't remember who) take a mark 35m out from goal. Adelaide defender stands the mark 3m further out from the actual mark. Nothing unusual in that. Umpire runs in, sets the mark in the correct spot, calls for Adelaide player to move back. Adelaide player turns around, ignores umpire, then umpire points to where the defender is standing as the being the mark. The umpire did this from where the mark should have been. So we should not only have had the defender come back to the mark, we should have got a 50. But no, because it's Freo the opposition players apparently get to make the rules. And the umpires think we're stupid or something. Errors I can handle. But that's bordering on favouritism or just pure laziness. What gives.

Yep I couldn't believe it when I saw that Spud, think it was the last 1/4 though (didn't we kick to the Subi end in the last?) and pretty sure it was Balla that had the kick.
Ump correctly makes the spot at least a couple of metres closer to goal, Adelaide player did not move an inch and marked the spot where he was standing in the turf.

I am also dead set certain the ball hit the post in the reviewed one.

The Dockers' straight kicking in front of goal offset their horror field kicking.

The Crows yielded 16 of their 21 goals from Dockers turnovers.


This is on top of 13 goals from turnovers last week against the slime.

Best umpiring in the world won't make up for that!

Spud opposition players setting their own mark against Freo has been happening for years. The umpires favorite way of handling it is " Tony back 5 metres, back 5 metres, back 5 m__ play on." Making out they are doing something, but then just calling the Freo player to play on.

Another one was the Perth enfd RHF flank I think, Adelaide player cruises all alone through the "protected area around the mark" while Walters is taking his kick. Totally condoned by ump, yet Freo get a couple of 50's against for not leaving that area quick enough.

Yes you guys are right, it wasn't umpiring that cost us the game it was our own fault, however this thread isn't about that.
Its a thread to whinge about the diabolical umpiring we have received each and every week for a lot of years.
However, if the siren goes 4 minutes before the correct time, shouldn't we whinge about it and complain to the people who should be doing their job correctly? Isn't it the same thing?
There was a moment in either the 1st or 3rd qtr where the ball once again went way out of bounds on the Subi/ Roberts Rd side of the ground. The umpire didn't call it and I'm quite sure the ball went down to the other side of the ground and they kicked a goal.
