Crumber is right. I heard the whole exchange on 6PR on Saturday. Hackdorn stated that in his view, some Freo players were so upset that they actually preferred to go back to Peel to play. First, this is the Hack talking. Although it was radio, you could almost see the story that the Hack was coming up with in real time. Bell was blindsided and responded that he personally would find it incredulous that a Freo player would prefer to go back to Peel to relieve himself of the stress of playing for the Dockers.
Just another example of the Hack. I repeat: He has no inside information. None. He speculated and Bell took the bait. Of course, the question you have to ask is simple: Hack, please reassure us that you have a distinct source - no one expects you to reveal who that is - but you actually have an inside source who tells you things. He doesn't. He made it up, like he makes up almost all of his statements. If we believed the Hack, Pav retired a few years ago. I remember the Hack categorically stating that Luke M was retiring at the end of 2014. He didn't. Luke publically stated that he had his best pre-season ever, hitting personal bests, in the 2014-15 pre-season. The Hack makes things up.
Last week, Bell was genuinely surprised when the Hack 'broke' the story that Sumich was leaving at the end of the season. Bell did not know this. However, there were other radio personnel saying that Sumich was leaving, the Hack just repeated this. It later came out that there are new rules about assistant coaches, that they have to be told by 1 August about their status, if they would be renewed or not (those who have contracts ending). That's obviously what prompted Sumich, I speculate - that Sumich was told that he wasn't going to be renewed, so he jumped before he was pushed. Again, this is a speculation on my part. I have no inside sources. This is what the Hack should say every time he opens his mouth.
As for Mora being upset at not being picked, I think you can take this to be a given, surely.
The final thing that the article says to me is that Peter Bell is either playing dumb, as in he won't reveal anything he knows as a board member - which is good - or, as a board member, he genuinely knows nothing about the day-to-day operations of the club - which to a certain extent, is also good. IMO.
