Stephen Hill typically has about 8.7 disposals per Clanger.
In 2010, he had 9.3.
This year is his worst of his career at 6.5.
I posted elsewhere that even Stephen Hill is currently attributing to turnovers because of Freo's current poor midfield. In the 3 previous seasons when Freo's midfield has been performing, Stephen Hill has had a ratio of about 10 disposals per Clanger.

It appears to me to have more to do with how the current team is playing, especially in the midfield.

Again I don't reckon it's about what he can do skillwise. I'd say keeping him on the list for 5 years, 3 knee recos and enough soft tissue complaints to put Ablett in the shade is good evidence they know what he is capable of if fit.

It's the "if fit" bit that's the problem. So that's where one or two games isn't going to provide enough evidence on his body being able to hold up for a decent enough of a period.

Really they can only go on hope at this stage and whether they think they can afford to risk carrying him for one more year on the list, which they'll probably only be clearer on as the time to finalise the 2017 lists draws near.

They have already made up their mind on what to do with Mora. I hope they have decided to keep him, but giving him a game or 2 now won't change the decision. Let's just see what plays out.

As far as clangers go, when is the clanger attributed to the kicking player, and when is it attributed to the kickee(?). ? Ifr a player kicks it to where a player is leading, or should be leading and the player kicked to does not put in sufficient effort to get the ball, who is committing the clanger? And if a player bangs it on the boot in hope, then Walters or Ballas sprints 50 meters in 3.8 seconds to take a diving mark, why should that not be a clanger. And if a player kicks it along the boundary to a (Freo) teammate, the ball bounces at 90 degrees and goes out of bounds, Margetts calls deliberate, why should that be a clanger?

A kick to a player that misses him and goes to space would not be a clanger.
A shocking kick which still goes to one of your players would not be a clanger.
A fumbled dropped uncontested mark is a clanger.
A kick that misses your player by only a couple of metres and the opposition takes an uncontested mark, is a clanger. Likewise a handball or knock on that goes directly to the opposition.
All Frees Against are Clangers. Out of bounds intentionally are a Free Against, therefore a clanger. Out of bounds on the full are not counted as Frees Against, but are counted as a clanger.
A kick at goals from 5 metres out that misses and is a point, is not a clanger.
Please feel free to correct any of that if you know any better.

While we're at it, I'm also concerned that a number of the one-percenters recorded this season, when analysed, have in fact fallen in the range above 1.5%, making them technically two-percenters when the correct rounding technique is applied. There may even have been some three-percenters in there.
