There's no easy way to say this...

get a 'kin grip people. The Hack has dreamed up a story, it's been picked up by the AwFL's own site and half of you have run off with it like the kid that stole the easter eggs from the school canteen.

There's always half a poofteenth's chance of some truth in the stuff you read in footy media so it pays to squint with the near eye when you squeeze the lemon on the fish and chips, basically. Otherwise believe nothing until you see it happen.

But sentimentality aside, now that the initial shock has settled I'm wondering what / who we could get for a still contracted Ballas? We've got younger small forward depth to cover him, maybe it's worth having a think about. He can't claim homesickness, bond might actually have the upper hand for once...

Where is their source that Ballantyne wants out? If it's his manager stirring things up, he shouldn't be hard to find. They usually like a bit of publicity, it's good for business. Not a peep.

Ballantyne is apparently entertaining a three year deal with Essendon. Couldn't help but notice the bit about. "Respected Radio 6PR football commentator Kim Hagdorn" within the article and then at the end of the article an acknowledgement of who helped write the article "- with Kim Hagdorn".

Funniest thing I've read recently was the article in this mornings Times suggesting that we may consider a trade of Ballantyne for Eric McKenzie. Now I'm one of the biggest Tiger fans around but I'd have to say that Eric would have to be the most overrated key defender of recent times. He makes Zack look like a genius and I'm dumbfounded how he got All Australian selection a few years back.
