Matt de Boer always pushes to the limit, gives everything and plays at WAFL as an on-baller. He has elite endurance, gets 25-30 touches and a heap of tackles each week. When he comes into AFL he is nearly always a defensive forward and looks out of place.
Chris Mayne continues to miss easy shots on goal and does not have the forward instinct (well, not enough). He plays for a few minutes at a time in defence and looks ok, attacking the ball, providing strength in contests and closing down speed but then they send him back forward and crush all his confidence once again.
Tommy Sheridan is lightly framed, very slow and a poor decision maker in defence (don't be fooled by shutdown job on Gaff who is even slower) but gets into good spots up forward and can kick straighter than Mayne.
Danyle Pearce, whilst I understand his outside run and speed ,butchers the ball consistently and has never been dropped but Blakely gets dropped for poor disposal.
I can understand a reluctance to experiment when you are winning and heading to finals, but....
