Starting to see why the club is keen to keep him, definitely has shown more potential in 5 games than Tabs in 4 years...still maintain that Tabs can still work as a third tall, but Apeness could be the pack-busting monster that we have been so desperately crying out...

I remember people bagging Sandi 12 years ago when he was a skinny kid.

Apeness will put on 12 kilos over the next three years and increase his running ability at the same time.......and then he is going to kill someone.

He will be a crowd favourite over the next ten years...

Hadn't really noticed before just how light he is, no wonder he has been injuring himself, I agree a couple of years time he could be the big fella up forward doing the damage.

At 101kg, Apeness is about the same weight as other 200cm forwards, Lobb (102kg), Kennedy (104kg).

Franklin is 107kg, I assume this is the beast mode people are aspiring to.

Joe Daniher is only listed at 94kg, which is lighter than Pav (99kg).

At the moment, Apeness is a Warm Gun. Bang bang shoot shoot.

Once he gets some time in the side, and if he can avoid injuries he'll transform into the next Austin Robertson.

There were two things I really liked about his game ...

(i) he looked like he knew where to run to get the ball and impact the game:
(ii) he looked like he was enjoying himself out on the field

As for item # (ii) that is something I think has been sadly missing for the lads all of 2016, most of 2015, part of 2014, and probably since the final siren of the 2013 GF.

Davo Kennedy 103kg and Franklin 107kg are 196 Cm and Pav is 192. Lobb was 90kg when he started at GWS and has put on 15kg as his biggest knock was he was too easily moved off the ball, he probably has at least another 5 Kg to put on. Daniher is the only guy who is similar to the Ape in regard to weight and height. Danihers biggest knock is, you guessed it he is easily moved off the ball by larger opponents. Daniher will always be a rangy mobile big man and probably top out at around 100kg maybe. The Ape is destined to be more of a crash bash player like a Johno Browne (195cm 103 Kg), The Apes body shape tends to suggest more of a 110 to 112 Kg playing weight at 200cm tall, and that's a big unit on the forward line.

I thought when he took the mark on the line between the goal and the point post at the Subi end, he was going to muck it up and not kick the goal. What he did on his non preferred foot, was very encouraging. Stay fit and we've got another Johnno Brown in the making. Hopefully he'll do it for 10 years or so.

I was really impressed with that mark & goal, jezza, and surprised by the lack of adulations. A really competitive mark right on the line, followed by a snap across the body from pretty much the tightest angle possible on his non-preferred foot.

And there was no faffing about with 3 minutes worth of visualisation, either. He just took the kick pretty much straight away.

He acted on instinct. That could be dangerous in the current climate.
