The only true champion we've had, never gave anything away to anyone. He kept his mouth shut until a decision was made. He laughed at the media and treated them with the comtempt they deserve.
I salute you Pav.

Managers have to earn their 10% somehow, they do it by writing their players media conference scripts. These are something like Hollywood scripts and should be acknowledged as such.

It's weird how sports fans can turn on their heroes for having an opinion...

Fyfe is a product of his time, he operates as a professional and he does so very well. So did Pav when he was starting out. He was one of that era's new breed of footballer who expressed incredible presence of mind and professionalism in interviews at a young age and with little experience.

It's just evolution, in this case within a professional system. Fyfe understands that he is, essentially, a brand and he's looking after that aspect of his career.

Pav never treated the media with contempt. He was always professional on camera and in his other roles. So is Fyfe.

It's weird how people can change their value system by calling it evolution. Footballers have been swapping clubs for a hundred years and supporters have hated them for it.

It's part of the deal when you make a lucrative living off an intangible product.

Exactly Shane. Fyfe is entitled to go to another club, and we are entitled to hate him for it if he does. Sports-hate, anyway.

But bagging him out for acknowledging the system gives him options is a bit premature.

It's not about 1 player, Fyfe is a star but if he goes so be it, need 22 players, playing as a team to win a flag. So many examples - Gary Ablett Snr was traded in Geelong - and how good are the Hawks now ? Dangerfield went to Geelong - and Adelaide are better !

Hase on ABC Radio said, club first, stick a new contract under his nose and ask him to sign it tomorrow. If he doesn't, trade him this year.

Can we please have Jeremy Cameron.

$1.5 million per year for 10 years. Does that sound tempting?

Hasleby was 'going to the Eagles' every time his contract was up for renewal.
