Emerging?

I thought he was just big. And there. Not much emergence. Fingers crossed I suppose.

Fair enough, but this week forget it. Pav's got to get up for the Derby, it could be his last - all the wannabes can just pull up their socks or stay in the WAFL. This is way too important a game, we have to win it.

Isn't that the out clause in OUR contract withy Roly? You can miss the finals, but don't dare lose both Derbies.

I have watched him closely over the last few years when he is fit. Unfortunately have not been impressed and if I had to have a bet I would say a DUD.
But big tall forwards do take time and am hoping like all hell he develops. Fingers crossed.

See how he goes with a couple of injury free years under his belt.

I quite like the look of Apeness. He seems very competitive, which at the moment means he gets to the right spots, but isn't strong enough yet to really impact anything, so instead he tends to just crash into people. When he's playing, you know he's out there. You can work with that. Another year in the gym, and hopefully a pre-season on the park, and I think he can be a positive for us next year.

He played a game against West Perth late in 2014 where he took a bunch of contested pack marks around the ground, and up forward.

He's pretty much been between injuries ever since but there was plenty in that game to like.

Picked up in the same draft as Tom Boyd. Played in the same U18s team. How is Boyd going at $1M a year at the dogs. As Boyd was pick 1, I don't see him being a standout thus far. So, is Apeness going to be our KPP we're looking for? Perhaps, but it's not costing us $1M a year.

Jezza, tongue in cheek but I'm not sure that argument is a strong endorsement on Apeness. Post Pav I could be our CHF and it wouldn't cost Freo $1000 a year. Does that mean I'm ahead of Boyd and Apeness?

He is still growing into his frame, in a year or so when he is 110kg to 115kg he will be a beast and have some real size to match his aggression. He played 4 games in the WAFL last year and was injured again this year. He could be a real find for Freo, the Pav rates him highly and that's good enough for me.

Deserved a contract extension, anyone that flattened goddard like he did has potential.

The club is losing a heap of identity when Pav finally goes. I know he is for me Freo. There's a lot of our players i like watching but this bloke is our heart. I'm yet to see who will provide that when he's gone. I thought it was Fyfe, but him losing the player vote to Mundy is a worrying indicator of where the playing group think he's at.
