On a day that was far from what we had hoped for for our longtime Captain's milestone game it was good to see such a great game from our current Captain.
44 possessions, 4 marks, 4 tackles, 6 hitouts, 1 goal, 24 contested possessions, 13 clearances without a lot of help to me was BOG.
So good to see him back up the ground and in amongst it, one of only a few that seemed to really put in a big effort.

Neale not far behind either.

He and Crozier seemed to be battling for BOG for mine. It was good to see Manic back in the middle where he belongs.

...and as loyal to the club as Pavlich. Could have left and returned home 5 years ago, was highly sought after but stayed. A fact often overlooked when certain people talk about one club players and loyalty etc.

I know he's played some great games for the club but that would have to be up there in the very best. Surely the most disposals he's ever had* and he could not have given any more on the day.
As mentioned he's been through some dark days at the club and elected to stay. It was as if he went out there to prove a point and give his utmost for the club and Pav.
His captaincy has been questioned by some here but he was obviously preferred to Fyfe by his team mates and certainly led by example yesterday.
Being at the game and seeing how many disposals he'd racked up early in the last quarter I made a point of watching him to see how many he could get. He ran himself into the ground by the end of the game and never threw in the towel. Couldn't believe how he could still at this stage of the game cover so much ground, find space and still generally use the ball well and gain valuable ground before kicking.
Probably won't be BOG as Kennedy had one more possession and kicked three goals, but it was performance that should not be forgotten and on a dark day I'm sure Pav would have appreciated it.
