I was OK with the move of Dawson forward. It had some semblance of logic and gave me hope Roly was beginning to think outside the box.
What was most concerning was how long the experiment lasted - about 20 minutes. If you are going to roll with this, roll with it for 4 weeks minimum. Then you can put it to bed one way or another.
Its like the Mundy to the back line experiment. Does it work or does it not? We still dont know as each time we need a lift in the centre we pull him out of the backline and put him back in the midfield. We are going to hit 2017 and still not know if Mundy could be an answer to our poor disposal and lack of transition out of the back line.
We dont know if Connor could handle the big bodies of a Kennedy or Hannebury type, the list goes on.
The only thing we have discovered this year is that Crozier looks to be a fixture in the half back line.
I remember Hypen musing that Sutcliffe might go ok up forward. He took one good mark (in his career) up forward and kicked the goal. Lets see him there for an extended period. No, he got shifted back after 10 minutes.
Mayne back??? Could it work, dont know, got shifted after one medium performance. Did well in the last quarter last week but do you think we will give him a proper run at it??
If we are going to have a development year do it properly.
Roly doesnt know if hes Arthur or Martha at the moment.
