I gather the goal umpire called touched. There wasn't clear evidence that it wasn't touched so it goes back to the umpire's call.

I think the decision was correct. But in a Hawthorn game, the goal umpire would have called it a goal. The video review would have been inconclusive, so it would have stayed a goal.

Sane thing happened in the Port v Giants game. A Wines goal was called touched, they went to the replay which was inconclusive, and the original decision stood.

No conspiracy.

No conspiracy but the process is wrong,
Dont call it touched and ask for a review. If the ump thinks it is touched just call it and not have a review.
The reciew is more than likely going to be inconclusive and revert back to the original decision.
They should have just called it a goal and then let the review process do to its thing, If its touched it will show in the review

So, the umpire says I don't know, the video review is inconclusive, then what? A three point goal? Player sign autographs while statements are taken video is send to a forensic team for 10 minutes? Toss a penny?

The process is correct. A decision is required. It has to be pretty quick. Umpiring is imperfect. Get over it.

The reviewer says 'Sorry, can't help you.'

So the umpire goes with what he originally decided.

If they look at the tape and can't see the ball is touched (fingers bend back or ball deviates from it's trajectory) then call it as a goal.
