You've wrecked my night Corporal. In 1987 Kickett put together one of the all time great seasons of football. He polled close to fifty votes in the Sandover but was ruled in eligible when he snapped and slapped a player around the head about 10 times.

Bugger. Can't remember Hypen. He would would have won the Sandover by 16 votes. I remember Mark Watson saying he actually felt guilty about winning it in such a manner. Wasn't the actual incident rather minor? Didn't he only get one week?

Things certainly didn't fall his way in football because six years later he played every game of the season only to dropped by Sheedy in the Grand Final which they won. It wasn't as if he'd been playing badly either.
And of course Sheedy's was supposedly the man who had such an understanding of indigenous players.
