Loved watching tonight every player 100% effort. How good is Hill on ball 37 touches will not get them off half back.

Great post. Yep, they were pretty darn good. Setting up on defence the way they used to but attacking the corridor on the way out.

Just on Sutcliffe, he is one of the best one on one players in the comp, never beaten in the contest. I just hope for the lad he can sort out his kicking cause it threatens his career.

Maybe throw him forward permanently.

Freo were good for a half. Coincedentally, Geelong were flat as a pancake in that same half.

In the second half Freo scored 2 (Yes, TWO) goals. Kicking the ball to 5'8" SonSon being marked by two giant defenders was ridiculous.

6'4" Enright ran around the backline without an opponent for the ENTIRE GAME. No wonder the crab got 30 possessions and 12 marks. Lyon did nothing to counter this.

Effort is one thing. Effort without reward is another. The only stat that matters is the scoreboard and you will never win anything scoring 61 points.

I didn't believe we'd win before the game, but did when we led at half time. The second half was a lost opportunity.

We had enough inside 50s in the 2nd half to win but the forward line could not function just banging it forward to 2-on1s or directly to Geelong defenders.

Yes, compared to the debacles that were Melbourne and Collingwood they played well but I'll never "celebrate" a loss.
