anyone thought you don't need a big marking forward well tonight would prove you so wrong. Hill, Pearce, Crozier breaking lines and driving the ball deep into attack and we don't look like taking a mark except for Walters.
A one man forward line isn't going to win you many games.


Edit....it does help of course if you can hit a target particularly when under little pressure.

They had 3 tall marking forwards. It meant little in the end. Take away Danger's 2 gift goals, we could have quite easily won that game. The game is won in the midfield. When Barlow got injured, we were one mid down. Neale gets tagged. Good night Irene. I thought I saw evidence of the old Freo tonight. Lack some polish. Fyfe, Sandi, Johnson and Bennell is the polish that we're missing.

I'd like to know who reported it as discussion about McCarthy were held months ago and nobody is stupid enough to expect Walters for a bloke who may never play again anyway. Hes been out for 12 months and really wasn't a world beater before then.

One thing for sure, he will never play for those crabs again so they should get almost nothing for him.

Walters is a star, he's carrying the whole team at times this year. McCarthy is just baggage at present. We have a history of picking up lame ducks and blokes touted for great things, that...don't. Pick him up for when he's nothing out of contract. Anything else is a waste of Freos time.

If Mikey goes, I go - there wasn't a goal scored by Freo tonight that didn't have Walters in there somewhere.

In my thinking (as others have stated above) they've got to put Cam, Coniglio, Patton, Cameron, Mumford, Whitfield, Kelly and Jarrod Pickett into a package before I would even dream of letting Mikey consider it - then they would have to sweeten the deal with the Opera House, Manly Beach, 4 clubs from The Cross, one of those low-wide harbour cruise boats, Centrepoint Tower, Greg Inglis, that great ice-cream place on the main street of Katoomba and that weird looking actress with the hook nose that's in all those ABC dramas.

I reckon that might do it for me - but only on a two year contract so he can come home before he's 26.
