he only surprising thing about it OKD is that you are surprised. Commetti and Big nose thought it was quite fitting that the umps allowed "Danger" to get a GOTY contender. Had a good laugh between themselves as well. Their enthusiasm was much more subdued when Balla's gave Freo the lead back minutes later however. Wonder if the late hit on Walters will be scrutinized?

Yep moan about the umpires allowing an out of bounds goal however, his other 3 goals, 15 kicks, 16 handballs, 5 marks, and 3 tackles were a pretty solid effort and was clearly the difference between the two teams.

Our endeavour as mentioned on the other thread were really good and a huge improvement over our last two matches, but our execution and decision making still leaves a lot to be desired.

When Den Den and bignose agree that it was OOB, and that it was not a free kick, then it is a pretty good chance we were robbed on those decisions. Take those 2 goals out give us a couple for Balla's mark that was reversed, Walters mark not paid and 3 or 4 non decisions with push in the back against Mikey and Pav then tell me "Danger" was the difference. Margetts and Guthrie's umpiring was the difference.

The turning point was Barlow getting injured at the start of the 3 rd quarter!

He was clearly matching it with dangerfield (17 possession at half time) and allowing neale free reign, once he went off the cats were able to concentrate on shutting down neale (2possessions in 3rd quarter) and we effectively lost our two main midfielders.

It continues to show how signficant injuries during games affect results, we are number 2 in -AFL this year for key losses during games 8 of 15 have lost a key player. Eagles have 1 loss from 15 games. Roos are number 1 with 10 out of 15.
