As a long suffering 21 year member with 3 young boys as members, am tired of seeing what our team gives away after the wins. Not so much this year, but in the past all they give away to the kids is a hat. Am frustrated to watch every other team after a win. They are thankful and happy to actually sign a footy after a win to hand to the kids that would do anything for a glimpse and a signed prize from their heroes. Even seeing opposing coaches happy to do so, frustrates me even more. We actually pay more than these clubs to bring the family along. Have we become the arrogant club, that doesn't actually care about our junior members. While talking about what we do for our grassroots constantly. Who is to blame?

count yourself lucky. From the second tier, due to OH&S we are zero chance of ever getting anything.
Not to mention being more than 50 metres from the changeroom entrance unless some young lad making his debut makes the dash to the other side...
Agree, Its something we need to do better.
I notice they try a lot harder at away venues.

Pre Game in the halcyon days of the WAFL they use to kick about 10 footies into the crowd during the warm up lap before the game. Big Barrels into the outer.
all colours of the team. It was quite a spectacle and bloody exciting (for a 7 yo anyway)

I am sure I have been to games where they loaded up the old compressed air tshirt cannon and fired goodies into the crowd at halftime. Must confess I can't recall seeing it this year though. I will make the call now for every second home game of the season for Freo to be known as Hot Dog round, the Steves should dress in dog suits and walk among the crowd handing out free hot dogs to Freo supporters and children at the game.
