Surely O'Meara would be at the top of our trade list this year. I know he's not a kpp but I think our only real option next year is going to be to play Fyfe foward with mcarthy and tabs anyway.
With O'Meara and Bennell at Freo next year hopefully Martin and Cognellio wouldn't be to far away and the Karma circle would be complete.

I did have a bit a left field theory on this one ..... it involved us being last on the ladder and getting not just the last pick in the draft but also the first pick in the preseason draft .... if omeara wanted to come home to the club that took him in as a 16 year old talent before gold coast got him all that would have to happen is omeara nominate for preseason draft and we pick him with pick one costing us nothing in player or picks for a trade .... genius .... unfortunately/fortunately we won some games and now sit third last ( one below gold coast ) so could do it still but would need to be certain essendon and Brisbane don't have the cap space etc. to pick him first - I think the lions definitely will .....

part two of this theory/dream was number one pick to Melbourne and an older player for Hogan ( don't think Melbourne would go for it anyway ) ... that would leave us with an amazing core of star players in the 21 - 25 year old group ( fyfe, bennel, Neale, hill, omeara, Hogan )

part three of this got silly whereby morabito recovered and returned to his form of first year

as Darryl Kerrigan would say ..... 'dreaming'

O'Meara would be surplus to requirements. We've got mids that rival the best in the AFL. Neale's signing was a godsend. We get McCarthy and Hogan in the forward line, it's what dreams are made of. Throw in the likes of Taberner and A. Pearce in the backline, it's finals time in 2017. End of story.

O'Meara is currently on $650k per season and reportedly seeking $750k per season from next year (his manager denies this...so you can be certain it's true). He is also reportedly looking to play for a Victorian team (his manager hasn't denied this...so who knows if that's true).

Last weekend O'Meara played his first game since destroying his knee in an NEAFL pre-season game in Coorparoo in April 2015.

As for kicking it to Fyfe! So the suggestion is tha we move the best player in the comp into a role he hasn't played in to make room for an extra midfielder who has a track record that is marginally better that Morabito. And this is supposed to be a better option than throwing the kitchen sink at a ready made forward like Hogan and leaving Fyfe where he can do his thang. Sounds like a Bondy way of thinking to me.
