Umpires are wonderful people, a treasure trove of unique characters and people that have to be protected.

Australian Rules is free of much of the violence and knobbery that are common place in sport around the world. That is why the AFL has to have such strong rules on what coaches can say.

And Umpires are just as unique, both warm and direct. When you disrespect umpires they will tell you firmly.

I am truly sorry Nicha, Findsy and Ryno were accused of calling Lindsay a ducker. Protecting the head is important but not as important as the integrity of the game.

Brad Scott has been fined $30,000 for having a bit of a whinge and saying that umpires play favourites, which they clearly do, and then apologising very quickly.

Mark Thompson was fined $30,000 for his direct involvement in the biggest doping scandal in the history of the sport and they let him get away with paying just $5,000 of it.

They've lost the plot.

I don't think this lot ever had the plot in the first place. They wouldn't know footy from tiddlywinks. All they know is corporate greed and cronyism, and they won't ever lose that. Time for the proletariat to stage a revolution and take back control of the game we love. It worked a couple of hundred years ago in France and the USA so no reason why it can't work now.

I think Chris is less of a bully, thug and sook than Brad because he is ex-Freo and also a winner.

Chris is probably first born, which like Steve Waugh over Mark, has caused Brad to be more bully, thuggy and sooky than his DNA permits.
