I too think this is fabulous news but magenta pink chevron rather embarrassing. It may not be a done deal as I don't believe the jumper if the girls had it. We can hope they use the opportunity to get this right.

According to the Caroline Wilson article click here Freo had the strongest overall presentation out of all the 18 clubs, and are possibly the favourite to win the first flag.

Yeah I don't know about the pink/magenta chevron - looks like an afterthought. Why don't they go for a whole new jumper design - either that or just stick to the same design as the blokes and be done with it.

A previous article I read about this said that WA was very strong for women's footy, and that the AFL would have been better changing the 8-team setup - 4-vic, plus 1-team from the other 4 states - and giving WA a second license, and losing the Qld team or having greater than 8 teams in the inaugural year.

Anyway - Go Freo Women's Team!

With the short seasons, you'd need a twenty year career for a mother-child pick.

Could be a few interesting selections.

'Look, I know she's pushing 40 and her knees are shot but have you seen that daughter of her's in the under 16's. Just give her a few more seasons to get to 150 games.'

I think the magenta pink chevron was just a crass marketing ruse. One of the Steve's was on TV talking about the successful bid and he said the club colours would be shared by the women's team. Also, Caroline Wilson's article states that, at yesterday's MCG launch, the new club representatives were showcasing their playing strips, and there's no pinkness in sight.
