I have always accepted with a wry smile, the argument that the AwFL and Colonwood put together, defending the fact that the Pies draw a huge crowd so they have to play as many prime time games at the MCG as possible "for the good of the game and the health of the competition".
This weekend they drew a crowd of 28,500. Granted it was against Port.
However, the Blues had 30,700 and that was against Brissy, and the doggies, 28,700 vs Slime.
The Arguement is no longer valid.
Make them go over to Tassie, up to Darwin or Gold Coast and Brisbane and see how the other 17 teams manage to survive it. They may even quite like to see there's life outside Melbourne.
Next years fixtures could be interesting and Eddie may not be a happy chappy.
