Josh Mellington - Now there was a young player with exquisite skills.
The irony of the draft is he is probably a better player now than when he was on our list.

He forced his way into a strong team then pulled a hammy off the bone and never played again.
Its a shame Phil Smart still wasnt the recruiting manager, he may have recruited him back when the club delisted him like he did with Crowley.

Plays in the Darwin league for South Burnie apparently. Interesting name for that league. Either way, while it is a fair effort to get to 100 that quickly, it is at least 2 tiers below that Tassie State League and I've no doubt that he is getting some coin to play/coach lower than capabilities. Can't be drafted from out there though.

The whole Darwinism thing centred around the uniqueness of the Galapagos islands - naturally, that was before Ugg boots, Winnie Reds and the whole HQ mullet culture of Tasmania properly developed. Imagine the fascination Charles would have had with that lot. In socio-anthropological terms it's quite unique - the second settlers decided to go from one end of the island to another and wipe out the first inhabitants to preserve their breed. After Truganini (the last of the Nuenonne people) things kind of got out of hands (could be multiple of course) and brotherly love (or sisterly if that's the way your thinking goes) leapfrogged cross-fertilisation science into a whole new genome pool unique to the Apple Isle. Once they planted some apple trees the island really got going - plenty of extra hands could pick that fruit in no time flat. Footy thrived as well, almost three times the national average for kicks per game (which stands to reason when you think about it).

I always hoped David Attenborough would get down there and make a twin-screen doco - maybe a multiple screen one (where you have to squizzle a bunch of tv's together to get the whole picture).
