Deluca strong in contests and has what it takes.

Of course that's a subjective matter and one we will never know. Six weeks ago people were saying we shouldn't play Blakely, Weller, Langdon .....too young they said.

There are guys playing for Peel today with twice the ability of Mayne, which isn't anything Mayne can change. He's been overtaken.

The future is not in waiting to see Mayne play a good game every now and then and kick 0.0.

I don't question his effort but he's WAFL and a half......always has been and our forward line can't afford that.

Sure Mayne doesnt kick many goals these days but his defensive efforts result in quite a few. I think there is a place for him in our forward structure once we have a forward line that is functional. Give me Walters, Ballas Taberner, Apeness and Yarran and Mayne will look sensational.

You may very well be right Eventually, but forwards need to kick goals so his game today lacked the required impact.
I love Chris Mayne his as a club man and how he conducts himself off the field but I wish he could hit the scoreboard.
I often wonder how much attention his opponent has to pay to him as he poses very little offensive threat.
