For me, Barlow provides the most damning example. Yes, it was the WAFL, but the game conditions were far worse than they were last night. He was a beast in the Peel game - 44 disp., 3 goals and heaps of tackles.
A footy department should know what a player is capable of - clearly Mick should have been in the side. In my thinking, De Boer should've as well. Ok, so you want flying hours put into training pilots - fair enough. But at the end of the day footy is a simple science - you don't crash the airplane and expect some twisted sense of loyalty for customers to keep filling the seats.
