Worst today says Mayne won't resign. Not sure how much we have offered him , hopefully not too much.
Love his attack of the ball but if we could get a second round compensation pick for him that would be great and we could pass on to gws for mc carthy.

The other one is if lachie Neil wants out we could trade to Adelaide and then pass onto to Melbourne with our first round pick for hogan. Sad to loose lachie but midfielders are a dime a dozen, especially ones who are not elite with their kicking.

My estimation is serviceable midfielders are available at a ratio of 10 to every 1 key tall forward.

You can get guys like Barlow, Neale and Blakley without a first rounder.

Its an interesting philosophy to recruit a bloke because you think he can play his midfield role better than the tall forward given relative scarcity of supply.

I think Tropical came up with analysis that highlights the gaps on our list categorized by age and position. It was good information. The gaps on our list is bordering on gross negligence.

Lachie Neale is far better than just a serviceable midfielder. He is currently a clear leader in disposals in the entire competition and leads the disposal average in front of Sam Mitchell.
Neale also leads in Contested Possessions in front of next placed Patrick Dangerfield.
Gone to bigfooty where there's fewer Docker Haters.

Is it possible that the Hogan deal may get done at the end of the season? With a top 5 pick coming our way it might be the Dees only chance of getting some decent value for him in return. Our first pick and a quality player may just get it done a year early. With a softer draw next year and some better players out on the park our first pick will hopefully be a lot later.
Mayne and Lachie obviously think they are worth more than what's been offered. Danyle Pearce on the other hand couldn't sign quick enough.

First off, I doubt he's going anywhere.

WA boy with all his family here, yet the author strings together some connection about his father playing cricket with the President of the shinboners? Yeah-nah.

Secondly, assuming I'm wrong and he is off, what are the chances the AFL will compensate us with a second round pick? The same AFL that screws us over with the draw, umpiring and the MRP.
