I don't know about due diligence but I do know our record for getting players on the park is starting to really jack me off.
There have been a lot of posts about our lack of forward planning in securing replacements for Pav, Sandi etc, what would our position have been over successful period if we could have entered a final series fit.
It seems to me this is also not new, we were aware going into the last 4 years that we ageing stars and they would need to be managed and yet year after year Johnson, McPharlin and Pav would either be missing or seriously below 100%.
Even last year we thought get off to fast start we will be able to rest players, what happened? Hawthorn and Geelong have mastered this.
Players go on the injury list and then just continue to have the time extended.
This is an area that nobody can say Harvey was better, he just played injured players until they were completely broken.
What are the chances that we could get somewhere in between and occasionally get our best team on the ground?
At least with our best team on the ground the we have a chance to see whether it is the coach or the cattle for crying out loud.

Yeah, that's right. There are so many positives when you're 0-8 and everyone in the football world except for 2 or 3 dockerlanders can't see them. Especially when you're own club admits they have fallen off the radar much more quicly than expected and that they didn't see it coming.
But then again, it's all due to.......
Injuries to 3 players
New game plan
Lack of confidence
Tough draw.

Sorry DK I admire your resilience and willingness to back the team in, but the injuries that never cure are the final straw for me.
At least in the short term maybe next week I can reboot and start to see some light in this disaster that 2016 has become. There is no escaping the facts.

Harley is not and won't be the last player with dodgy calf. I think our training ground at Freo must come under the microscope. In recent years, AA Luke had chronic calf issues. Hilly was prone to calf injuries. No coincidence, that Yarran and Weller have had problems. If Harley came with the prognosis, then our training surface wouldn't have helped. Let's hope the move to Cockburn resolves part of this problem.

Not just 3 key injuries.

Yarran is a mature player, can't get on the park.
Apeness, rookie, can stop busting knees.
Morabito. Seems to be right, but they won't play him. He'll probably do another knee stepping up to AFL.
Benell. Smart move by GWS to leak pictures to the press to take the focus off his busted calf and get some poor sap of a list manager to pay to take him.
Silvagni, would get injured doing the coffee run.

Add to that, ageing players and 2nd stringers who would have been limited to games if not for a injury list that never gets shorter.

The injuries to Fyfe, 211 and Johnson created the perfect shitstorm for Freo.

Until South Freo players all start going down with calf injuries sustained from training, you can't hypothesise that it has something to do with their training ground. You want training ground problems try watching those red-dirt blokes up in the Pilbarra.

Nope, what I see is a shifty eyed bloke telling a tv camera that 'Hilly's alright to go...' and 'Harley's resumed running..' and all sorts of misdirections. Don't trust him - ask that reporter at the Worst instead. But if Mr. Shifty's in charge of rehab, I think I would get a second opinion.

I don't mean to be critical, Morgan, but "although it seems" is slightly bereft of fact: they are our best players, and in fact Fyfe was last year's Brownlow Medallist, widely regarded by his peers as MVP, Sandilands, the most dominant ruck man of the last decade, Johnson, our creative defensive general, and Bennell, a former number two draft pick with *more talent than the rest of our squad combined. Our injury list is crippling us, as it would cripple any other team. These players, aside from Bennell for obvious reasons, would be widely regarded as among the best players in the competition, not just compared to Sean Hurley and Harley Balic.

*Mike W excepted, and Mr Hill ain't too shabby neither, but then he's injured too

True, but Johnno hasn't played anywhere near a full season for the last three years and although Sandi had a better year last year his previous couple were ruined by injury with turf toe and he hardly played then.
Really doesn't appear that we've covered for them adequately.

Ablett was a also a Brownlow medallist and missed a huge amount of games, plus GC last year and this year had/have a much longer injury list than us and they seem to be able to win a few games.

Agree they are out better players. My point us our injury numbers aren't higher than other clubs, just more damaging, which militates against the view that this is something endemic. I know Shane and others don't believe in luck, but who gets injured is as important as how many injuries you have.

You might be able to hold a football department to account on the number of injuries, but we don't have more than other clubs.
