Enough is enough, after yesterdays game, apart from Hawthorn, we've played there more than any other team in the competition. There is simply no fairness in the draw at all. If Hawthorn wants to play there, thats fine, but would a fairer balance of the amount of times teams play there over 5 years be too much to ask???

For the record, heres the stats

Hawthorn 50, Fremantle 11, St.Kilda, 10, Port 8, Eagles 7, Brisbane 7, North 6, Adelaide 5, Bulldogs 5, Suns 3, GWS 1, Sydney 1, Richmond 1, Geelong 1, Carlton 0, Collingwood 0, Essendon 0, Melbourne 0

Surely you would think there would be more fans of the Vic teams in Tasmania - Burnie aside - than fans of Freo.
Christ, we know we get shit fixtures because nobody is interested in us, so it begs the question as to why we are forced to go there year in year out when Hawthorn might as well play Coolbinia Under 7s for all the enthusiasm we muster.
It is clearly not a money earner, just banking four points for the Hawks.
For what it is worth, we will beat them next year in Tassie, and then see how fast they get the Toilet back there for 2018.

Hawthorn and the AFL make more money from fixturing games against non-Victorian teams in Tassie, and keeping the games featuring two Victorian teams in Melbourne. We have played there a lot because we draw poorly in Melbourne, and by dint of being consistently good, have played Hawthorn twice a season for ages.

DB, I agree it's not fair. That said, a Freo game at the 'G would barely cover the the break-even point for Hawthorn, but the Hawks get paid to play in Tassie. Hawks v any Victorian team would draw around 50,000 or more in Melbourne. You're lucky to get 18,000 to York Park, so why wouldn't you play a lower drawing team there? It's a no-brainer financially, or for spin purposes, if you care about giving fans opportunities to go to games.

Tassie has requested more Victorian teams. They are the ones paying, so they might have some leverage. We get left arguing fairness. That doesn't get much play at AFL House.

So, not sure what the club can do about it.

Fairness mightn't get much play but that doesn't mean the club shouldn't be lobbying hard and loud against it surely?

The other states or at least most of them can fly direct to the craphole so we should not have to go there unless the Tossers at awfl put on a direct flight. Fairness plain and simple.

The afl spruik fairness when they talk about the draw whenever it suits them so use it against them.

With us destined to finish bottom 6 and Hawthorn and the Slime likely to finish top 6, we will only play Hawthorn once next season.

As we don't draw a crowd over East it should be a no brainer that game is played in front of a sell out crowd in Perth. Right?

I think the football department tried to shame the AFL, hoping that by sending our B teams to Tassie, that the AFL would come to their senses.

Didn't work, presumably as it gave all the footy shows some content to talk about.

Maybe if we start beating the Hawks there, Hawks will then request to play us at the G
