Better than last week was all I meant.
I had just finished watching the game sometimes my judgement takes a little while to settle these days.
The statement is true but of what consequence it has could be questioned.

The Clarke ship sailed 2 years ago.

What we have now is the Marie Celeste version. Soul-less, and drifting without direction on a stormy sea.

RTB said in his presser...,
"It’s hard to keep your full integrity for selection, but as long as our young players are giving great effort and trying their hardest, well then you can pick them but we’re not going to pick people that don’t give effort and that aren’t committed."

So how the hell does Clarke keep getting a game?" Soft as butter and always looks disinterested. Surely based on this he has to go?

Clarke took some good marks at crucial points in the game. In fact they all TRIED today. Did like the Peel team result albeit against lowly Perth. Can't wait to get Yarran up forward at the Dockers. Yarran for Mayne ... Mora for Ballantyne. Clancee will come back next week along with DeBoer. But who do you leave out?

TRM agree with all you have said except for bringing back Clance and the Pig. We play GWS next week and they have a number of good running players. The leg speed and effort from our young guys today is what kept us competitive. The only way those two guys get a game is if Sutcliffe or someone like that gets dropped and I can't see that happening.

If a Clancee is the answer we're asking the wrong question.

As much as I love what De Pig and 'Gu has done for our team, I don't think any of the young ones deserves to be dropped based on yesterdays performance...if anything, I'd like to somehow fit Langdon back into the team...

Having said that, if Mora is deemed to be ready for AFL, I'd be inclined to bring him in for Sutcliffe/Sheridan and see how he goes...

Crozier has always been a tease. You get glimpses during games, but he never consistently influences games. Hopefully that's not far away.

As for Hendrix, he cops a bit for his 'effort', but I'm not entirely sure what people mean by that. He's 6'8. So you can't expect him to fling himself around for second efforts. Also, he's been playing on one leg for most of his career.

I reckon if we saw his GPS data, his 'effort' would be in how hard he works running up and down the ground. He's just hitting his prime for s ruckman now. We should know by the end of the year how good he is.

Ethan Hughes, Sam Collins, Ed Langdon, Mzungu, Clancee could all have played yesterday, and I feel might have had more of an impact than Crozier, Clarke, Sheridan and Dawson.
I think Brady Grey looks the goods; his physicality for a young bloke is brilliant, and I also thought Blakely looked good too and deserves a longer run.
Despite shots on goal, the turn around in intensity from last week was something else. If that is the case, Ross, bring in the young guns and let them have a crack.

Whilst I have been one to champion the bringing in of the young guy's, lets not forget that D Mundy returned to the team yesterday and his leadership and delivery of the halfback line was outstanding. I get excited and want all of the young blokes playing but we still need on field leaders. We could probably bring in some way youngsters this week probably Yarran for Ballas who is pretty banged up, Collins for Sutcliffe or Sherrdan because of the talls at GWS and Morabito for Mayne because Mayne needs to find some confidence.

Eventually
Yesterdays game highlighted how much Mundy's influence has been underestimated by many, he was the general we have missed, easy to see why he was chosen to replace Pav.

What a problem we have this week - Suban , De Boer, Langdon, Smith, Clancy and Ibbo all looking ready for a step up to the top team but who to drop?
I would give up on Sheridan and rest Ballas so 6 into 2 who'd be a selector!

Hendrix was better than Griff yesterday but still gets the hate. Griff spent more time in the ruck but only had 1more hit out while Jacobs consistently out marked him around the ground. Hendrix finished with one more mark than Griff although Griff did get an easy goal out the back too. The same number of touches which is a surprise given Hendrix was forward most of the game and Griff on the ball.

It's pretty clear Hendrix is hampered by his knee but he's our best option at the moment.
Nathan: When did you get balls?
Simon: I've always had balls you've just never seen them.
Nathan: That's the gayest thing I've ever heard.

Crozier is one of about 6 or 7 blokes we have in that age bracket that haven't come on and is why we are where we are. He would not be getting a game at most other clubs. Pretty good mark for his size though.
