Pav had 12 disposals and took 2 marks and kicked 3 points

Mayne had 12 disposals, 5 marks and kicked a dead goal.

I can see why Taberner is getting such a bad reputation in here....its because few people really have a clue.

I can remember him taking more. The stats guys can remember him taking more. In fact he took 8 marks, contested and non contested. 18 disposals, 10 kick, 8 handballs. Kicked straight on goal as well 1.0

Tabs was actually one of our better players yesterday in spite of being very down on confidence. Maybe if people could actually watch the game instead of seeing stuff that reinforces an existing prejudice. Tabs isn't our problem.

He will be a very good second tall forward in time. He's never going to be a power forward like Pavlich. People's expectations may need a dose of reality from time to time.

Its hard to kick goals when the coach is playing you in defence most of the game because of the way our midfield keeps turning over the ball to the opposition.

Picking on Tabs because he isn't Pavlich is nonsensical. Concentrate on the real villains in our midfield and defence and leave the soft targets alone. Tabs was just fine yesterday. Made mistakes yes but fewer than his more experienced team mates.

Great post Yeti. He keeps on going after he stuffs up and doesn't drop his bundle. Yeah he turned it over when he tried to attack the corridor and that wasn't good but all his mates were just booting it up the line. That long kick up the line is a cowards kick, cause it comes straight back.

Right now there are some players with serious confidence issues in our team, the coach thinks confidence is unnecessary cause its an emoton. I reckon he is smashing them in the review sessions and its taken a toll. Crozier kicks a goal and his mates get around him and 5 minutes later he is standing on someones head. Thats confidence. Mayne has a shot when the pressure is off and kicks through the ball. Goal.

Lyon has some work to on their belief, I think they s*** scared of stuffing up at present.

Part of it is we have spent years training them to be cogs in a machine. A machine that no longer runs.

Now we need them to make decisions and execute skills. Skills that weren't needed as much under the congested game plan.

Get it into their heads that they will stuff up but they'll be backed in anyway. Give them the confidence that that can take the game on without being dropped after one bad game. Give the youngsters with the speed and skills experience at this level and live with their errors as they learn.

Identify those who don't have the speed, can't develop the skills and leave them at Peel while we get game time into those who might make it.

We WILL have more bad losses but be better for it in the longer term

Taberner is not an afl standard forward, second up or not. But he clearly has a fan in you. He was dead set ordinary. Most of his marks were taken in the backline or dead space. He makes a contest and that's about it.

I think there are at least 34,000 fans who need to hang their heads in shame after we were out chanted by the Carlton rabble.
So we only support when we are winning now?
Sure the playing standard was craptacular and it is disappointing, so what's next, we start leaving at 3/4 time?

There is no easy fix. It's going to be a couple of tough seasons as we get games into the youngsters but if your going to wear purple to the game, wear it with pride and find your voice.
