When players are taught to act instinctively should it be - raise your eyes and kick it longer or lower your eyes and … Is this part of the process that our players are having trouble with adapting? Could this explain some of the fumbling?

You should do both, not just automatically commit to one or the other. Players at AFL level should be able to get the footy and have the smarts to look around and quickly judge the best option. Game sense should come naturally to AFL players after so long playing and so much time spent training. The biggest part of coaching should be what the players without the ball are doing to get it and be on the receiving end.

All that goes without saying Biz – you could even have added finding the 'go to' man – precision kicker – but there is something else going on and its not just get it moving on asap. And I doubt it is just the placement of players around the ball filling in spaces. I dunno, I'm just speculating. I reckon over the years I have heard commentators say lower the eyes or raise the eyes. The game changes quickly and it could morph a few more times before this year is out. We lack a bit of class and talls and will be pushing it uphill till that is taken care of – meanwhile tactics – battle plans - matter.

They spend too much time training, where everything happens as it is planned to, and not enough time playing were nothing happens as it's supposed to. Let them act on instinct for christs sake, that's what got them onto an AFL list in the first place. ( Oh that's right that's what got Simpson sacked)

All we need to do is work out if the team we play is putting players in front or behind the leading players and then adjust if we kick in front or over the back of them. stop lobbing it up high and allowing the easy spoils,

That's all that is happening and is an easy fix.
